The Assam Secondary Education Department has opened the online application portal for the Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme 2026. The Government of Assam provides laptops or equivalent cash prizes to meritorious students who achieved a first division in the HSLC and High Madrassa examinations conducted by SEBA, as well as the 10th-grade exams under the State Madrassa Education Board and Sanskrit Board of Assam, through the 'Anundoram Barooah Cash-cum-Laptop Award Scheme'.

Under the ARBAS initiative in Assam, the state government awards high-achieving students with a certificate of merit, a personal computer, and internet connectivity devices including a two-year subscription. Eligible students may complete their registration for the 2026 award cycle via the official portal at arbas.assam.gov.in.
Named after Anundoram Borooah, the first Assamese member of the Indian Civil Service, this scheme was established in 2005 to foster competitive excellence and improve digital literacy among students. Those who secured a First Division with star marks in the HSLC (10th), High Madrassa, or FM examinations conducted by SEBA and the State Madrassa Education Board are eligible to participate.

The ARBAS program provides students with laptops, web connectivity, NCERT digital textbooks in PDF format, and various multimedia learning materials.
