Financial Assistance Amounts
Under the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena program, the government supports BPL students by covering hostel and mess fees. This aid is delivered in scheduled installments as detailed below:
- ITI Students - Rs. 10,000 annually (Rs. 5,000 per installment)
- Polytechnic Students - Rs. 15,000 annually (Rs. 7,500 per installment)
- Degree Students - Rs. 20,000 annually (Rs. 10,000 per installment)
Eligibility Requirements
- Students pursuing the following are eligible:
- Polytechnic
- ITI
- Degree
- PG/Ph.D
- Students must be enrolled in:
- Government or Government-Aided institutions
- Private colleges affiliated with State Universities or Boards.
- Annual family income must be below Rs 2.5 Lakh.
- Beneficiaries must hold less than 10 acres of wetland or 25 acres of dry land (or a combined limit of 25 acres).
- Households must not own four-wheelers (excluding taxis/autos used for livelihood).
- Government employees are ineligible, with the exception of sanitation workers.
- Families receiving a pension are generally excluded from this scheme.
