Check 2026 AP Jagananna Vidya Deevena Payment Status and Installment Dates: The Andhra Pradesh government introduced the 2026 Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme to support mothers whose children are pursuing higher studies. Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy distributed the initial installment on April 19, 2021, followed by the second on July 29, 2021, the third on November 30, 2021, the fourth on March 16, 2022, the fifth on May 5, 2022, and the sixth on August 11, 2022. A total of Rs. 693 crore was disbursed in the sixth installment (following previous payments of Rs. 709 crore, Rs. 708 crore, Rs. 686 crore, Rs. 693.81 crore, and Rs. 671.45 crore respectively) directly into the bank accounts of mothers of eligible students.
The Jagananna Vidya Deevena program is designed to assist students from lower-income families in accessing higher education. Funds are transferred directly to the bank accounts of the students' mothers, a change from the previous system where payments were made to college administrations. Update on the 6th Jagananna Vidya Deevena Installment
On August 11, 2022, in Bapatla, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy released Rs. 693 crore to the accounts of 11.02 lakh mothers, covering the fee reimbursement for the April-June 2022 quarter. The government remains committed to supporting higher education for underprivileged students by regularly reimbursing fees for those enrolled in polytechnic, engineering, medical, degree, and ITI programs.
To date, the state has invested Rs. 11,715 crore into the Jagananna Vidya Deevana and Jagananna Vasathi Deevana programs, which includes clearing Rs. 1,778 crore in arrears left by the previous administration. Furthermore, the government provides boarding and lodging support under the Jagananna Vasathi Deevana scheme: Rs. 20,000 for medical, engineering, and degree students, Rs. 15,000 for polytechnic students, and Rs. 10,000 for ITI students.
Beneficiaries include 2,17,238 SC, 45,450 ST, 5,30,995 BC, 1,02,707 Kapu, and 70,964 minority students. Mothers are urged to remit the college fees within 10 days of receiving the funds; failing to do so may result in future payments being issued directly to the educational institutions.
