AP YSR Arogya Asara Program 2026

The Andhra Pradesh government initiated the YSR Arogya Asara Program to provide relief to economically disadvantaged patients as an extension of their health coverage. Through this scheme, the state supplies up to Rs. 225 per day or Rs. 5,000 per month for the duration of recovery advised by medical professionals. This is the first initiative of its kind in India to provide post-operative financial support to patients following surgery.

The primary goal of the AP YSR Arogya Asara Program is to prevent financial hardship for families when a family member falls ill. Approximately 4.5 lakh low-income individuals are expected to benefit from this post-operative sustenance scheme. Former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated the program on November 2, 2019, at the Guntur General Hospital.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify for the 2026 Aarogya Asara benefits:

  • Applicants must be permanent residents of Andhra Pradesh.
  • The program is specifically designed for individuals belonging to ST, OBC, SC, and minority communities.
  • Beneficiaries must undergo treatment at a hospital empaneled by the State Health Department.
  • Only low-income laborers from Below Poverty Line (BPL) households are eligible.
