The Karnataka state administration has introduced the 2026 Ayushman Bharat - Arogya Karnataka Scheme portal via arogya.karnataka.gov.in, allowing users to view hospital listings, explore service capabilities, and access their accounts. Following the national inauguration of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana by Prime Minister Modi in Ranchi, the Karnataka government has launched a unified healthcare initiative within the state. This merger of the central government’s AB-PMJAY program and the state’s Arogya Karnataka Yojana is officially titled the Ayushman Bharat - Arogya Karnataka Yojana.
The Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust serves as the primary governing body for the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Karnataka, facilitating cashless medical care up to Rs. 5 lakh for families below the poverty line (BPL) and up to Rs. 1.5 lakh for those above the poverty line (APL). This combined health initiative encompasses 1,628 medical procedures. Eligibility is determined by deprivation metrics rather than caste or creed, with no restrictions regarding age or income.
The state government previously moved to consolidate the Ayushman Bharat and Arogya Karnataka programs, securing the necessary federal approval via a signed Memorandum of Understanding. With an estimated budget of Rs. 1,000 crore, the PMJAY-Arogya Karnataka initiative is set to support approximately 13.4 million families across the region. This Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) integration marks a significant step in state-wide healthcare accessibility.
