The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is currently accepting online registration applications for the 2026 Baal Aadhaar Card. Citizens can apply for the Baal Aadhaar Card by visiting their local Common Service Centres (CSCs) or designated Aadhaar Seva Kendras. UIDAI issues these blue-colored cards to children under the age of 5 upon submission of a completed online application. These cards are also available for newborns and remain valid until the child reaches 5 years of age, at which point the card must be updated.

The Baal Aadhaar initiative is a recent program, and we have outlined the details here. A standard Aadhaar card captures biometric data, such as fingerprints and iris scans, to issue a 12-digit unique ID. However, since the biometric features of children under 5 are not fully developed, UIDAI has established a specific online registration process for this age group.

Below, you will find comprehensive instructions on how to apply for a Baal Aadhaar Card, along with a list of required documentation.
