Odisha state's Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) for 2026 aims to deliver comprehensive health insurance to all residents. Under this BSKY initiative, the state administration is prioritizing the healthcare needs of families with limited financial resources.
The Odisha government is providing an annual healthcare allowance of Rs. 5 lakh per family for secondary and tertiary medical treatments. This cashless medical service is set to benefit 96 lakh families, encompassing 3.5 crore individuals, across all government and authorized private healthcare facilities.
All individuals visiting any state government health facility, from district to sub-center levels, will receive medical services completely free of charge. The health insurance coverage for each individual is Rs. 5 lakh, with an additional Rs. 5 lakh allocated for female beneficiaries. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) on August 15, 2018.
