The Union Government has introduced the Cyber Crime Prevention against Women & Children (CCPWC) platform to enhance safety measures for women. The website cybercrime.gov.in serves as a hub for citizens to report harmful online material, including child abuse, child pornography, and explicit content such as rape or gang rape. The CCPWC site allows victims and whistleblowers to submit reports either anonymously or via a trackable submission process.
State and Union Territory police departments will handle complaints submitted through the cyber crime portal based on the data provided by users. The system also offers an anonymous reporting feature, ensuring that those filing reports are not obligated to reveal their personal details.
Additionally, the National Database on Sexual Offenders (NDSO) was established to assist in the monitoring and investigation of sex-related crimes. Access to the NDSO is restricted to law enforcement agencies to help them effectively trace and prosecute sexual offenders.
Cyber Crime Portal for Protecting Women & Children
The Cyber Crime Prevention against Women & Children portal manages reports regarding online child exploitation, including sexual abuse material and explicit content like rape. The platform is designed for ease of use, allowing individuals to report incidents without revealing their identity. This resource is intended to support victims, concerned citizens, and advocacy groups in reporting illegal activity.
Users are encouraged to upload evidence, such as URLs or files, to assist State Police in their investigations. All reports submitted through the CCPWC system are directed to the appropriate state or regional law enforcement agencies.
