Delhi state authorities operate a Doorstep Delivery Initiative (Sarkar Aapke Dwar) designed to bring public services and welfare programs directly to residents' homes. This program now allows citizens to access 300 public services across 14 different departments from their own residence. Residents can simply dial the 1076 hotline, provide their information, and a designated representative will visit their home with the necessary paperwork to process their request. Review the full list of Phase 1, 2, and 3 services offered under the Delhi government's doorstep delivery model.
The service representative will collect a nominal fee of Rs. 50 and manage all administrative tasks via a tablet at your location. Residents no longer need to travel to government offices, as they can schedule appointments for these services at a time that works best for them.
This initiative effectively cuts out intermediaries, ensuring citizens can directly access welfare benefits. By 2017, approximately 2.5 million applications had already been submitted for these services.
Delhi Government Doorstep Delivery Initiative
The Delhi administration launched an upgraded version of its flagship service delivery model by onboarding new private partners and expanding the service catalog from 100 to 300 offerings. This new model integrates agencies like CSC e-Governance and Core Doc2 to handle field operations, replacing the former partner, VFS Global. These agencies manage the demand distribution, supported by 150 Mobile Sahayaks (facilitators) and supervisors to ensure efficient service completion.
The infrastructure includes a dedicated call center with 80 representatives who have successfully processed over 500,000 service requests from more than 2.5 million inquiries. The government is also continuously improving its software platform to streamline these operations. Since its inception in September 2018, the scheme has evolved significantly, initially starting with 40 services and now covering a vast range of public needs.
This initiative aims to eliminate long queues at government offices. By calling 1076, residents can book an appointment for a Mobile Sahayak to visit them, collect documents, and complete the process. Popular services currently include requests for income, caste, and domicile certificates, as well as driving licenses and vehicle ownership transfers, spanning across 14 various departments.
