During the 2013-14 fiscal year, 3,024 cases were processed under this marriage scheme, with an additional 1,300 cases handled between April 2014 and January 2015. By May 20, 2015, a total of 2,452 applications had been successfully sanctioned.
Eligibility Requirements for the Scheme
- The applicant must have been a resident of Delhi for at least 5 years prior to the application date.
- The total annual family income must not exceed Rs. 60,000/-.
- The applicant must hold an individual bank account capable of receiving funds via electronic transfer.
- The applicant must not be receiving similar marriage-related financial aid from Central, State, MCD, NDMC, or other government departments.
In addition to the requirements listed above, the following conditions are mandatory for the scheme:
(a) The bride must be at least 18 years of age on the date of the wedding.
