The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under the Central Government has officially launched the Digital India Internship Scheme for 2026. This initiative is designed for Indian students enrolled in accredited universities who have maintained a minimum of 60% marks in their most recent academic assessments. Eligible students pursuing degrees such as B.E/B.Tech, M.E/M.Tech/MCA, MSc (Electronics/CS/IT), or DoEACC ‘B’ level are encouraged to apply. This program represents a significant milestone in advancing the Digital India vision. Interested and qualified applicants can submit their internship applications online through the official portal at dii.nic.in.
The Digital India Internship (DII) offers students a valuable chance to gain hands-on, practical experience under the mentorship of seasoned professionals. The program encourages active learning, allowing interns to apply theoretical classroom knowledge to real-world technical challenges. Internships last for a minimum of two months and may be extended to three months, depending on the candidate's performance and the Ministry's operational requirements.
NIC will select 20 meritorious students for both summer and winter batches based on specific domain requirements. Placements will be provided at the NIC Headquarters in New Delhi as well as at various NIC State Centers.
