The Haryana administration has introduced the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Accident Assistance Scheme. Through this initiative, the state provides a coverage of Rs. 1 lakh to support families in the event of accidental death or permanent disability. Essentially, this "Accident Insurance Scheme" offers monetary aid to citizens facing tragic accidental circumstances.
This insurance coverage is completely free of charge. Eligible applicants are not required to pay any premiums or hidden fees. The Accident Assistance Scheme is designed to benefit all Haryana residents who are not currently covered by or eligible for the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY).
Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Accident Assistance Scheme 2026
The Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Accident Assistance Scheme has been operational since April 1, 2017. The program covers residents of Haryana who are unable to receive benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, whether due to lack of enrollment or other reasons. The financial support provided under this scheme amounts to Rs. 1 lakh.
