Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel released the 69th installment of the Godhan Nyay Yojana on June 5, 2023. The Godhan Nyay Yojana was introduced by the Chhattisgarh government on July 20, 2020, to support animal husbandry and turn it into a profitable commercial venture. Chhattisgarh stands as the first state in India to purchase cow dung at Rs. 2 per kg and cow urine at Rs. 4 per liter from cattle owners.

This Godhan Nyay Scheme 2026 has successfully curbed open grazing, resolved the issue of stray animals on public roads, and contributed to environmental protection. This innovative "cow dung to cash" initiative has been active in Chhattisgarh since the Hareli festival. Livestock farmers can now sell cow dung to the government, which is then processed into high-quality organic fertilizer.
