The Haryana Free Tablet Initiative 2026 is an upcoming state government program designed for public school students. Under the e-Adhigam Yojana, the government will distribute complimentary tablets to approximately 9.87 lakh students across grades 8 through 12. These Android-powered devices will be issued under a library-style lending model, meaning they remain the official property of the Haryana government. These tablets are intended to support students with their digital learning and academic curriculum. During the initial rollout, 5 lakh units will be provided to students in grades 10 and 12.

Latest Updates on the Haryana Free Tablet Scheme

The Haryana government officially introduced its e-Adhigam initiative on May 5, 2022, distributing nearly 300,000 tablets to students in grades 10 and 12. Every unit comes equipped with adaptive learning software, pre-installed educational materials, and 2GB of daily data. The state aims to reach a total of 5 lakh students in these grades. Notably, 11th-grade students will receive their devices once they successfully pass their 10th-grade board examinations.

Under the guidance of CM Manohar Lal Khattar, Haryana is advancing the "Digital India" vision established by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This program, known as e-Adhigam (Advance Digital Haryana Initiative of Government with Adaptive Modules), provides hardware and connectivity to 5 lakh government school students to foster a digital learning environment.

Official Launch of the Distribution Program

The initial distribution event occurred on May 5, 2022, at the Tagore Auditorium, Maharishi Dayanand University in Rohtak, led by the Chief Minister. Simultaneously, tablet distribution ceremonies were held across 119 blocks throughout the state, overseen by ministers, local representatives, and administrative officials.

Goals of the Haryana Tablet Initiative

The Chief Minister emphasized that these devices and data packages are vital tools for equipping students with 21st-century skills, enabling them to compete on national and international stages. The e-Adhigam scheme serves to bridge the digital divide, particularly for students from financially disadvantaged families who were previously unable to afford personal devices for online schooling.

Key Details of the 2026 Scheme

The 2026 scheme provides eligible students with a tablet, 2GB of data, and access to a Personalized Adaptive Learning (PAL) platform. Following the 10th-grade board results, additional devices are procured for new students. Furthermore, all 33,000 PGT teachers assigned to these grades receive tablets, with plans to expand the program to lower grades (8th and 9th) in subsequent phases.
