Haryana state administration has introduced the Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana 2026, a specialized crop diversification initiative designed for the farming community. The state government is currently accepting online registration and application forms for the 2026 season via the official portal. Eligible farmers can receive a financial incentive of Rs. 7,000 per acre for shifting from traditional paddy cultivation to alternative crops. This water-saving mission aims to curb the rapid depletion of vital natural resources, specifically groundwater and soil health.
Financial assistance under the Haryana Mera Pani Meri Virasat initiative is disbursed directly to the bank accounts of registered beneficiaries using the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. To encourage this transition, the government has committed to purchasing maize and pulses at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). By moving away from paddy, farmers are expected to see improved profitability and higher yields.
