5th Khelo India Youth Games 2023
The fifth edition of KIYG is being hosted by Madhya Pradesh from January 30 to February 11, 2023. Details regarding the 2022-23 games were officially shared by the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Singh Thakur, on October 20, 2022. The event location was confirmed alongside Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The games are set to run from January 30 through February 11, 2023. This upcoming iteration of the Khelo India Youth Games will showcase 27 distinct sports, marking the debut of water sports in the tournament's history. New additions such as Canoe Slalom, Kayaking, Canoeing, and Rowing will be featured alongside traditional and indigenous athletic competitions.

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) confirmed these details in an official announcement on October 20, 2022. During the event, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated, "I am deeply grateful to the Hon'ble Prime Minister for selecting Madhya Pradesh to host the Khelo India Youth Games.
