May 2026 Update: Ladki Bahin Yojana eKYC deadline of 30 April 2026 is now over. Around 70 lakh accounts have been removed from the beneficiary list. About 1.88 crore women remain active and continue to receive ₹1,500 per month. The next annual eKYC window is expected to open in June 2026 on ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in, as per the September 2025 government resolution requiring yearly verification.

2026 Ladki Bahin Yojana eKYC online process ran on the official website at ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in using Aadhaar number from September 2025 to April 30, 2026. eKYC started for Ladki Bahin yojana from 18 September 2025. As per the GR, every year women beneficiaries must repeat eKYC between June and July within a 2-month window to keep receiving the monthly benefit.

Latest Update: During the 2026-27 budget speech, the Maharashtra government confirmed that Ladki Bahin Scheme will not be stopped and will keep benefiting women beneficiaries across the state. The budget allocation is ₹26,000 crore for 2026-27, down from ₹36,000 crore, reflecting the reduction in active beneficiaries after the eKYC cleanup.

The state government found around 14,000 men who received the benefit amount of ₹1,500 per month along with over 7.97 lakh women enrolled as third members from the same family, but the scheme allows a maximum of two women per household. The government is working to recover the amount from ineligible male beneficiaries. The eKYC exercise was taken up to make sure only eligible and correct beneficiaries remain in the Ladki Bahin Yojana list.

A confusingly worded Marathi question during eKYC caused problems for lakhs of women. The question "Tumchya gharatle koni sarkari nokrit nahi na?" (Nobody in your family works for the government, right?) was misread by over 24 lakh beneficiaries who ticked the wrong option. After further checks, nearly 20 lakh of these accounts were confirmed eligible and payments restored.

The Ladki Bahin eKYC online link at ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in/ekyc is currently not accepting new submissions after the deadline. It is expected to reopen in June 2026 for the next annual verification cycle.
