The Haryana administration has introduced the Mukhyamantri Kisan Khet Sadak Marg Yojana 2026 to improve access to small village pathways. This initiative aims to pave all such routes with Khadanja stones over the next five years through a systematic approach. By linking farmland to rural and urban networks, the project will grant farmers better access to marketplaces for their harvest.
The Chief Minister also declared that details regarding cultivable land, including crop types and acreage, will be registered biannually. This twice-yearly documentation process is designed to support farmers from the planting phase through to the eventual sale of their produce. This strategic move aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s goal of "Doubling Farmers' Income."

To boost rural connectivity, the Haryana CM launched this road improvement scheme. Managed by the Rural Development Department, the project will initially upgrade 25 kilometers of rural passages in every constituency. All these pathways will be developed into Khadanja roads within a five-year timeframe.
The primary goal of this scheme is to link agricultural fields with the main road network, simplifying the transportation of harvest to markets. This will lower logistics costs, help farmers secure better prices, and minimize crop spoilage. Additionally, consumers will benefit from more affordable and fresher agricultural products.
Registration of Farmers Cultivable Land
The government has mandated that farmer land records be updated twice every year. Farmers can submit information regarding their crops and land area at local Common Service Centers (CSCs). This data will facilitate easier access to government procurement, insurance, and banking services. Local Patwaris will verify the land registrations submitted to the Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Department.
Registration applies to both cultivated and fallow land. As an agrarian state, Haryana is focused on elevating farmers' income levels. The state aims to ensure earnings of at least Rs. 1 lakh per acre by encouraging scientific farming methods and crop diversification.
Focus on Crop Diversification in Haryana
Authorities are establishing financial management protocols to help farmers maximize productivity. By treating agriculture as a business and promoting direct marketing, the government hopes to reduce overheads and increase profit margins. Farmers are also being encouraged to move beyond traditional crops toward high-value produce like fruits, vegetables, flowers, and medicinal herbs.
Special emphasis is being placed on peri-urban agriculture to supply Delhi and surrounding hubs like Gurugram, Faridabad, and Noida. This involves a steady supply of milk, eggs, flowers, and produce to boost rural income.
The state has also launched new initiatives like the Agri Leadership Summit and Kisan Ratan Awards. These efforts, combined with the promotion of bio-fertilizers, are part of a broader mission to lower production costs and double farmers' income.
