What is Nirman Shramik Pucca Ghar Yojana 2026
The primary goal of the Nirman Shramik Pucca Ghar Yojana is to provide permanent housing to BOCW laborers residing in rural areas and registered with the OB&OCWWB. A 'pucca' house is defined as a structure that can withstand regular wear and tear from use and natural forces, including climate. Key characteristics of a pucca house include:
- Construction Materials: It must have a foundation, walls, and roof made of durable materials.
- Wall Materials: Acceptable wall materials include fly ash bricks, burnt bricks, stones (secured with lime or cement), and cement concrete.
- Roof Materials: Suitable roof materials are tiles, galvanized corrugated iron (GCI) sheets, asbestos cement sheets, reinforced brick concrete (RBC), and reinforced cement concrete (RCC).
- Structural Lifespan: The structure should have an expected lifespan of at least 30 years.
This definition is used for verifying existing pucca houses. Houses constructed under this scheme will utilize RCC or equivalent strong materials as approved by the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water (PR&DW) Department.
Individuals living in 'kutcha' houses are eligible to apply for the Nirman Shramik Pucca Ghar Yojana in Odisha. A 'kutcha' house is characterized by walls and/or roofs made from materials such as un-burnt bricks, bamboo, mud, grass, reeds, thatch, or loosely packed stones, and other materials not conforming to the pucca house definition. These materials lack durability and cannot withstand normal wear and tear due to improper construction techniques.
