Odisha Kalia Yojana Installment Update
Marking the Nuakhai festival (20 Sept 2023), the Odisha government disbursed Rs. 900 crore in financial aid under the KALIA Yojana. The Chief Minister transferred these funds to the bank accounts of 44.56 lakh small, marginal, and landless farmers. This support is intended for Rabi season agricultural activities. Each eligible farmer received Rs. 2000, deposited directly into their bank accounts via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
Extending his best wishes for Nuakhai, the Chief Minister highlighted that farmers are the pride of the state. To date, a total of Rs. 12,500 crore has been distributed to farmers under the KALIA Yojana. He further noted that the state government covers crop insurance premiums for farmers' protection, with over 22 lakh farmers enrolled for coverage this year.
Reaffirming the government's commitment to agricultural growth, the Chief Minister encouraged farmers to utilize these resources to help transform Odisha into an agricultural powerhouse. Financial aid under the KALIA Yojana is provided to eligible farmers twice annually, specifically during the Akshaya Tritiya and Nuakhai festivals.
Through the KALIA Scheme, the State Government strives to provide farmers with a comprehensive and adaptable support framework to drive agricultural success.
