PM SAMPANN Scheme Portal at dotpension.gov.in: Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the SAMPANN Yojana Portal, a Comprehensive Pension Management System (CPMS), on December 29, 2018, in Varanasi. The SAMPANN (System for Authority and Pension Management) initiative allows pensioners to monitor their pension status from the comfort of their homes. This official platform, dotpension.gov.in, was launched by the Prime Minister to streamline services for Telecom department retirees and ensure that pension payments are processed punctually.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the central government is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and simplifying access to public services. To this end, the government established the India Post Payments Bank to broaden financial inclusion via post offices. Furthermore, a network of 3 lakh Common Service Centers (CSCs) is now offering a variety of digital services to rural populations.

The PM highlighted that the SAMPANN Portal, a component of the Digital India initiative, will simplify processes for citizens, promote transparency in governance, and help eradicate corruption.

During the official introduction of the Pradhan Mantri SAMPANN Yojana, the PM stated that pension departments must adhere to strict timelines for all tasks. The portal, accessible at dotpension.gov.in, empowers officials to manage everything from pension approval to final disbursement internally. Consequently, pensioners can now conveniently track their payment status online without leaving their homes.

Benefits of the Comprehensive Pension Management Scheme Portal

The SAMPANN Scheme Portal offers several key advantages to pensioners:

  • Direct and timely pension payments, removing the need for intermediaries.
  • The portal acts as a centralized, single-window system for all pension-related activities.
  • Integrated online grievance resolution to minimize physical paperwork.
  • Easier tracking of pension status from home, fostering greater accountability and transparency.
  • The system supports approximately 3.5 lakh current pensioners and family pensioners, plus 1.5 lakh future retirees.
  • Streamlined processing for pension revisions and arrears.

The Department of Pension has implemented this integrated software to consolidate sanctioning, authorization, and payment processes into one unified platform.

Recognizing the limitations of existing bank-based grievance systems, the department has shifted toward direct credit of pensions to beneficiary accounts. This utilizes modern technology to achieve the vision of "Sanchar Pension, Seedha Vitaran" (Seamless Pension, Direct Distribution).
