Pregnancy Pre-Registration in Tamil Nadu | PICME Portal Login | TN Maternal Registration Guide | PICME Online Portal | RCH ID Enrollment | Required Documents for Pregnancy Registration. PICME stands for Pregnancy and Infant Cohort Monitoring and Evaluation. This initiative was launched by the Government of Tamil Nadu to monitor the health of all expectant mothers. Registration for pregnant women in Tamil Nadu is available via https://picme.tn.gov.in/ and can be completed anytime from the start of pregnancy until the birth certificate is issued for the baby.

Once registered on PICME, individuals receive a unique 12-digit RCH ID. This ID is utilized by the Public Health Department to oversee all stages of the pregnancy. There is an option for expectant mothers to perform self-registration online. This step is a prerequisite for obtaining a free birth certificate through the updated CRS PICME system.

Pregnancy Pre-Registration in Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu government requires all pregnancies to be registered, typically through Village or Urban Health Nurses. To simplify this for expectant mothers, a pre-registration system has been established, allowing for pregnancy notification through several channels. There are four ways to pre-register:

  1. Online self-registration: Mothers can visit https://picme.tn.gov.in/picme_public, submit their details, and receive a Pre-registration ID acknowledgement.
  2. e-Seva Centres: Visit your local e-Seva centre to complete the registration at no cost.
  3. Call Centre (102): Call the toll-free number "102" to register your pregnancy.
  4. Government Hospitals: Visit the nearest public hospital to complete the pre-registration process.

Once pre-registration is confirmed, an SMS is sent to your mobile number. Your information is then shared with the local health nurse, who will follow up to finalize your registration and provide your RCH ID.
