Chief Minister’s Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme: Uttar Pradesh has introduced the UP Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana 2026 to support the farming community. Through this accident insurance program, the state government provides financial aid to the families of farmers who suffer death or permanent disability while performing agricultural work. This initiative replaces the former UP Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Jivan Bima Yojana, following a cabinet approval led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
In the event of a farmer's death, their family is entitled to Rs. 5 lakh in compensation under the UP Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana 2026. This insurance coverage aims to assist approximately 2.38 crore farming households. The scheme also extends to sharecroppers (Bataidars) who cultivate land and split the harvest. The state government has earmarked Rs. 500 crore for this project in the 2020-21 UP Budget, which was announced on February 18.
Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched the Mukhyamantri Paryatan Samvardhan Yojana to promote tourism across the region.
