Uttarakhand's former Chief Minister, Trivendra Singh Rawat, inaugurated the Mukhyamantri Anchal Amrit Yojana in Dehradun on March 13, 2020. In addition to children aged 3 to 6 years who are already receiving milk through the Mukhya Mantri Aanchal Amrit Yojana, the state government led by Sh. Pushkar Singh Dhami will now supply nutritious milk on a weekly basis to students in grades 1 through 8 as part of the Mid Day Meal initiative. Currently, approximately 172,000 children in Anganwadi centers receive milk four times a week. Moving forward, 690,000 students across 17,045 schools will also benefit from a weekly serving of milk.
Uttarakhand Mukhya Mantri Aanchal Amrit Yojana in Budget 2026
The Mukhya Mantri Aanchal Amrit Yojana was introduced to boost the health and nutritional intake of children. Under this program, children between the ages of 3 and 6 attending Anganwadi centers receive 100 ml of fortified, sweetened milk enriched with vitamins A and D four days every week. The 2026 Uttarakhand budget has allocated Rs. 13 crore to support the Anchal Amrit Yojana.

As milk is a high-quality source of nutrition, we will ensure these children receive it once every week."
