Gujarat state authorities have introduced the Ganga Swarupa Yojana 2026 to offer financial support to widows. The government has rebranded the former Vidhva Sahay Yojna to Ganga Swaroop Beheno Ne Sahayata Yojana. This pension initiative reflects the commitment and transparency of the Gujarat administration. Under the 2026 Ganga Swarupa Yojana, every eligible widow receives a monthly pension of Rs. 1250. Below are the details regarding payment amounts and income eligibility requirements for the scheme.

The Chief Minister has inaugurated the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) portal from the Central Government. This digital platform streamlines the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of monthly stipends to 3.70 lakh widows, senior citizens, and women with disabilities across all 33 districts of the state.

The monthly pension of Rs. 1250 is credited directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries during the first week of each month.

The state government provides a pension of Rs. 1250 monthly through the Gujarat Ganga Swarupa Yojana 2026. The CM also launched the NSAP portal to ensure seamless DBT payments to the bank accounts of widow beneficiaries. Funds are disbursed instantly to the post office or bank accounts of eligible women. This program is managed by the Department of Women and Child Development in Gujarat.

Previously known as "Vidhva Sahay Yojna," the scheme was renamed "Ganga Swarupa Yojna" to honor the beneficiaries. The monthly payout was increased from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 1,250 in April 2019, with payments guaranteed to be released in the first week of every month.

Income Eligibility Criteria for Vidhva Sahay Yojana (Ganga Swarupa Yojana)

The state government significantly raised the annual income limit for eligibility, increasing it from Rs. 47,000 to Rs. 1,20,000 for rural residents and from Rs. 68,000 to Rs. 1,50,000 for those in urban areas. These changes expanded the beneficiary base from 1.64 lakh to 3.70 lakh women.
