Madhya Pradesh Urban Worker Bridge Scheme 2026
As most small enterprises faced a shortage of working capital due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the central government initiated the PM Street Vendor Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) Scheme nationwide. Under this program, street vendors can secure working capital loans of up to Rs. 10,000 without needing collateral. Following the PM Svanidhi model, two new initiatives—the MP Rural Worker Bridge Scheme and the MP Urban Worker Bridge Scheme—have been introduced to support vendors.
If you reside in an urban area of Madhya Pradesh and are experiencing a capital crunch, you can apply for this urban support component. The MP Urban Street Vendor Upliftment Scheme acts as an extension of the PM SVANidhi program within the state. The Madhya Pradesh government has launched a dedicated portal where the registration process is currently active; let us examine the details below.

Urban Worker Bridge Scheme Objectives
The Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission was implemented in October 2013 to replace the earlier Golden Jubilee Urban Employment Scheme, focusing on the upliftment of the urban poor during the 12th Five-Year Plan.
The mission is operated through the joint efforts of the central government, the Madhya Pradesh administration, and local urban bodies. It is committed to providing livelihood opportunities to the urban poor through capacity building, self-employment, skill training, social security, and institutional development. Under this mission, shelters for the homeless and hawker corners/vendor markets for street sellers are developed. Additionally, beneficiaries are provided access to various social services offered by different government departments.
