The Palakmantri Earth Moving Machines Kharedi Yojana is an initiative introduced by the Maharashtra Government during the 2016-17 budget announcement. This program is designed to equip rural youth with employment opportunities through specialized training. Furthermore, the government facilitates access to loans from nationalized banks for these skilled individuals to purchase earth-moving equipment. The acquired machinery is intended for use in NREGA projects, as well as for the construction of roads and dams.

The objective of the Palakmantri Earth Moving Machines Kharedi Yojana is to foster job creation and cultivate rural entrepreneurship. In rural areas, the condition of farm-to-market roads is often poor, leading to transportation challenges. There has been a long-standing demand for the modernization of these rural road networks.

IMPORTANT: It is possible that this scheme has been discontinued by the state government, as no recent updates have been found, including in the 2025-26 budget documents.

In the 2016-17 budget, the government allocated Rs. 100 Crores for the Palakmantri Earth Moving Machines Yojana. Alongside this, the government also introduced other initiatives aimed at improving the agricultural sector in the state, such as the Palakmantri Panand Raste Yojana.
