Bihar Senior Citizen Pension Scheme 2026: The Social Welfare Department of Bihar is now accepting online applications for the Mukhyamantri Vriddhjan Pension Yojana (MVPY) via their official portal at www.sspmis.bihar.gov.in. Under this initiative, senior citizens aged between 60 and 79 years will receive a monthly pension of Rs. 400, while those aged 80 and above will be granted Rs. 500 per month. Eligible residents can complete their registration for the Bihar Chief Minister Senior Citizen Pension Scheme 2026 through the official website.
All elderly individuals, regardless of their caste, belief, or religion, are eligible to apply for the MVPY. Individuals who are not currently receiving benefits from other state or central government pension programs are encouraged to register. Unlike many other states where pension eligibility is restricted to SC/ST communities, BPL households, or specific groups like widows, Bihar has removed these barriers, making the scheme accessible to all senior citizens.
As of September 10, 2025, 5,544,416 beneficiaries have successfully received pension payments under this program.
